“No!” – New Original Oil Painting on Panel

“No!” – New Original Oil Painting on Panel

Sometimes art just needs to shout back. My latest piece, “No!”, is an 8x10 inch oil painting on panel where defiance meets playfulness in a surreal twist.

I painted this with a sense of pure experimentation—pushing complementary colors of fiery orange and cool blue, letting them clash and vibrate off each other. There’s attitude here, sure, but also a little absurd humor. A figure stands at the beach, brightly lit, hair blazing orange against their blue skin, licking an ice cream cone stamped with the word “NO!”

It’s an absurd response to an absurd time… but then again, when hasn’t the world been absurd?

For me, this piece also connects back to my punk rock roots—that sense of raw energy, rebellion, and the urge to push back. “No!” is about defiance, about not conforming, and about finding power in saying it out loud.

Whether you see it as social commentary, surreal humor, or just a bold burst of color, it’s a painting that demands attention and refuses to be ignored.

Thanks for checking out my art—your support means everything.
